About Yours Truly - Shane Porter
There's nothing too exciting here, but for those who might be a little bit curious, here we go.
I’m Shane Porter — a business consultant, author, and leadership specialist based in Australia.
I am a partner in a successful IT managed services and ERP deployment company, helping businesses improve performance through better systems and smarter processes. With a team of 20 staff, we specialise in delivering practical solutions that support growth, efficiency, and long-term success.
My expertise is grounded in both real-world experience and formal education. I’ve completed a Graduate Certificate in Management and a Master of Business Administration (MBA), with a focus on managing and leading people. I’m particularly interested in how leadership, culture, and systems come together to drive business outcomes.
As a business consultant, I spend much of my time helping organisations streamline operations, implement ERP systems, and build high-performing teams. My work often sits at the intersection of technology and people — because even the best systems only work when people are engaged and aligned.
Alongside my consulting career, I’m also an author. Writing has been a lifelong passion, and it gives me a different way to explore human behaviour, decision-making, and the complexities of life. I’m especially drawn to stories that examine what’s happening beneath the surface — the motivations, tensions, and hidden layers that shape who we are.
I describe my writing as inhabiting the realm of psychological mystery, with a hint of the otherworldly. My work in the self-help space is unapologetically honest and not for the faint of heart.
This interest in human behaviour is what connects both sides of my work. Whether I’m advising a business or writing a novel, I’m always asking the same question: what makes people tick?
Outside of work, I’m a husband, father, and grandfather. I married my wife, Deborah, when I was 22, and together we’ve built a large, close-knit family — five children and ten grandchildren. They are a constant reminder of what really matters.
